This Privacy Policy describes how Quieto (“the App”) handles information when you use it on iOS or Android.

Everything is generated on your device

Quieto plays relaxing sounds and noise to fall asleep to. Every sound — white noise, rain, ocean waves, a campfire and the rest of the catalogue — is synthesised live, on your device, from mathematical descriptions of sound. Nothing is recorded, nothing is a file, and there is no server: the App has no way to upload anything, because there is nothing resembling “your content” to upload in the first place.

Notifications

While a sound is playing, the App shows a persistent notification with playback controls (play, pause, stop) so you can control it from your lock screen without unlocking your phone. This uses your device’s standard media-notification permission and has nothing to do with push notifications: Quieto has no server to send one from, and no message is ever sent to your device remotely.

What is stored on your device

Quieto stores your preferences locally, using the operating system’s standard app storage: your language, whether scene animations and their sleep-timer dimming are turned on, and your last volume level. That is the full list. None of it ever leaves your device.

No data collection

Quieto does not collect, transmit or share any personal information, and it makes no network requests of any kind — at no point, for any reason. Specifically:

  • No account or registration — no name, email address or any other personal identifier is required or requested.
  • No analytics or tracking — no analytics SDK, advertising network or third-party tracking service is used.
  • No location data — the App does not access your device’s location.
  • No camera or microphone — the App does not access your camera or microphone.
  • No purchases — Quieto is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no ads, by design rather than as a launch promotion.

Children’s Privacy

Quieto does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
