Quieto
Quieto plays relaxing sounds and noise to help you fall asleep. Every sound in the catalogue — white noise, rain, ocean waves, a campfire and the rest — is synthesised in real time, on your own device, from mathematical descriptions of sound rather than played back from a recording. That means no loop seam: a sleep app is listened to for hours straight, and a sound that audibly repeats every 30 seconds is the last thing you want next to your pillow.
Quieto’s catalogue:
- Ambient drone — a low, enveloping hum with no sudden changes.
- White noise — a steady hiss that smooths out sounds around you.
- Pink noise — a deeper, softer hum than white noise.
- Brown noise — a deep, steady rumble, like a distant engine.

Each scene pairs its sound with a gently animated backdrop, and a sleep timer fades both the audio and the artwork out together over its last few minutes rather than cutting off abruptly. A volume slider, a language switch (English/Spanish) and an on/off switch for the animations round out the settings.
Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded
Quieto has no account, no cloud and no server component. There is nothing resembling “your content,” because every sound is generated on the spot — there’s simply nothing to upload. Quieto is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no ads.
