This Privacy Policy describes how ChessCounter (“the App”) handles information when you use it on iOS or Android.

No network requests of any kind

ChessCounter runs entirely on your device. Every chess lesson, the opponent you play against in Free play, and the board itself are all computed locally by the App. ChessCounter has no server component and makes no network requests whatsoever, so there is nothing for it to send anywhere.

What is stored on your device

ChessCounter stores three things locally, using the operating system’s standard app storage:

  • Your preferences, appearance (light/dark/auto), mute, language and piece art theme.
  • Your lesson progress, which opening variants you have started or completed.
  • Your points and day streak, the running totals shown on the app’s home screen.

None of this ever leaves your device, and none of it is shared with anyone, including the developer.

No data collection

ChessCounter does not collect, transmit or share any personal information. Specifically:

  • No account or registration, no name, email address or any other personal identifier is required or requested.
  • No analytics or tracking, no analytics SDK, advertising network or third-party tracking service is used.
  • No location data, the App does not access your device’s location.
  • No camera or microphone, the App does not access your camera, microphone or contacts.
  • No purchases, ChessCounter has no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Children’s Privacy

ChessCounter does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
